Home Made Oyakodon

Need a one bowl meal that you can whip up in 30 minutes? An oyakodon is a one pan meal with ingredients that you can find in the house easily. The best part is no oil is used in this recipe so besides being tasty it is pretty healthy too!

Check out this step-by-step guide to making this delicious Japanese comfort food and you’ll be making your own Oyakodon in no time!

Ingredients:
2 boneless skinless chicken thighs
1⁄2 onion
2 large eggs
Seasoning sauce:
1⁄2 cup dash broth
1 1⁄2 Tbsp mirin
1 1⁄2 Tbsp sake
1 1⁄2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 1⁄2 tsp sugar
*mirin and sake can be omitted for the recipe to be halal

Serve your oyakodon with:
3 cups cooked Japanese short-grain rice
Small bunch of Mitsuba (Japanese parsley) or scallions
Shichimi Togarashi (Japanese seven spice) if you like spicy
