Here’s two simple home skincare routines using items that you can find in your kitchen so that you literally have everything at your fingertips.

Now, time for some skin pampering time ladies!

The Oat-some Oatmeal Cleanser

According to board-certified dermatologist Ava Shamban, MD, you can swap your usual cleanser with this oatmeal and honey scrub.

Here are the ingredients:

1 tablespoon of oats
1 tablespoon of sunflower seeds
2 tablespoons of yoghurt
1 tablespoon of warm honey

First, grind a tablespoon each of oats and sunflower seeds in a blender. Combine the mixture with two tablespoons of yogurt and one tablespoon of warm honey. After everything has been mixed thoroughly, take the mixture and gently
scrub it onto your face and neck. Leave this on for three minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.

The combination of oatmeal and honey pack a double punch with its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. Besides that, the lactic acid that you get from yoghurt acts as a mild exfoliator. As you strip the skin the sunflower seeds exude moisturising oils that help hydrate and smoothen your skin too.

Sweet-Face Scrub

When people say your face needs some sweetening up you might need to take their advice… literally! Treat yourself to a spa day with this simple-to-make exfoliating sugar scrub. You’ll be surprised that it’s so easy to make on your own you’ll get all your girlfriends to do it with you too.

Here’s what you need to do:

Mix one part olive or coconut oil with two parts of sugar. Add in a few drops of your favourite essential oil so you can bathe yourself in your favourite scent as you exfoliate. You can add in ground oats and honey (told you it’s all in your kitchen) for that extra hydration and calming effect.

So here’s to a healthy and glowing complexion from us to you ladies and make sure you treat yourself to some me-time so that you recharge for the rest of the month of March! Happy International Women’s Day!
